Planet Earth

My wife got me the BBC’s Planet Earth for Christmas this year. The back cover reads: “With an unprecendented production budget, using high definition photography and revolutionary ultra-high speed cameras, five years in the making, over 2000 days in the field, using 40 cameramen across 200 locations, Planet Earth is the ultimate portrait of our planet.”

Its pretty incredible – I recommend it!

  1. Gav, one of my fellow doctoral students has been raving about that series and they got it for Xmas and we’re going to watch it soon, too. Sounds incredible. dco

  2. Gav – My father in law got that for us for Christmas, and it is actually incredible. Did you know there is a 150-foot high pile of bat dung in a cave in Thailand? Seriously, that’s on the third disk. The whole thing is amazing.
